Officers Called Out to Yacht
The Miami Beach Police Department made their way to the waterfront after reports of a disturbance.
There had been told of fighting on a yacht late at night in the marina, where they found the rapper.
Scott Involvement in Disturbance
Police reported that they saw Scott shouting at people on the yacht.
They then spoke to the rapper and could “sense a strong smell of alcohol” coming from his mouth.
Asked to Leave
Scott was then asked to leave the area, but continued shouting at the occupants of the ship as he was escorted away.
Police said he “walked backwards, yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel”.
Returned Shortly After
Although he’d been asked to leave by the police, he returned shortly after to the scene.
It only took him 5 minutes to return to the marina and attempt to board the yacht again.
The Arrest
As he returned, he was stopped by police officers and, at that point, started to become “erratic”, according to officers.
He “disregarded officers’ commands” and was subsequently arrested and detained.
It’s Miami
When he was detained he was questioned regarding whether he had been drinking.
According to the report, he admitted that he had, simply stating “It’s Miami.”
Due to a Misunderstanding
Scott’s legal representative released a statement thanking the authorities and making clear that there was “no physical altercation involved”.
He said that “Mr Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding.”
